Four Weddings

We don't have a television, so I very rarely watch any TV shows. So, of course, when Josh and I come home to visit our families I enjoy a little time in front of it.

I ended up watching an episode of Four Weddings. Oh, TLC. What have you done?

Basically, Four Weddings is a competition between four brides where they attend each others weddings and rate them based on venue, dress, food, and overall experience. At the end, they compile the scores and the bride with the "best wedding" wins a really awesome honeymoon.

What?! Whoever has the best wedding??? That is NOT what weddings are about. It is supposed to be a sacred joining of two lives. The bride shouldn't have to worry about being judged on their special day.

Really?

Finally!

I have done something that we ladies that could never be accomplished... Maybe.

I got a man (FH, clearly) to admit that girls are easier to buy presents for than guys. *Pause for reaction*

Oh. yeah. Here's how it went down.

The scene is set as FH is wondering what to get his brother and sister for their birthdays next month

Me: Why don't you get Richard some sunscreen or something?*

FH: That would be funny, but that's not it. I already know what to get Rachel, but Richard is a mystery.

Me: Sooooo, what you meeean to say is that men are much harder to shop for than women. Is that correct?

FH:....Yeah
Me: HAH! TOLD YOU...

Was that too much? Probably, but it really feels like every guy I've ever talked to thinks girls are hard to shop for? Really? Is it hard to find something
A. cute
B. fluffy
C. shiny
D. all of the above (please don't ask what could be all three, I have no idea).

Anyways, let's chalk that up as one for the ladies!

*Richard works in the sun a lot and is extremely tan. It's a running joke in the family that he is no longer Caucasian.

Happy Mommy's Day!

Where would we all be without our mothers? Lord only knows, but it'd probably be somewhere pretty scary.

So the least we can do for acting like this is say thank you! I love you, Mom!

Double digits, people!

That's right, we're down to 99 days. Less than 100 days until I become a married woman. How intimidating!

I can tell it's getting closer because wedding stuff now has to get done, as opposed to me just doing it for fun in my free time.

From what I've heard, once you hit 99 it goes by fast, so I'll try to hang on.

So, I've been stocking up on my HGTV...

That's right people, the FH and I are moving to a new apartment in a little over one month. Gah! Honestly but I couldn't be more excited. Our current (and first) apartment is teeny teeny tiny and that is putting it nicely. At about 400 sq. feet we use the same space for our dining room, office, library, and kitchen. The bedroom can pretty much only be a bedroom. It is quite cramped.

Our new place is going is two bedrooms (thank heavens, we will have an actual office!), two bathrooms, and 814 sq. feet. We'll have a relatively updated kitchen (no more yellow stove!!!) and a fire place.

Needless to say, I've been flitting about around all of my favorite blogs (well at least all of the home decorating ones) looking for inspiration to make our new apartment a place that reflects who we are and that we can really enjoy. So for your viewing pleasure, I have included a few pictures below of what I am dying to include in our new home. Enjoy.
